The philanthropic forecast is hazy as we head into a new year: partly cloudy with a mixed bag of giving. Money remains tight for many businesses and individuals across the region, and a huge divide still exists between what folks are donating and what is required to help our neighbors in need.
Studies show giving is up just a bit when adjusted for inflation, yet it still remains well below pre-recession levels.
TALK is trying to do its part by getting involved a number of local charitable events. SPECIFICS? We are also eager to spread the word about our community’s hard-working nonprofit groups. If you have an upcoming charitable event, please reach out to us on Facebook and we’ll do our best to let others know. And once again, we have included dozens of new projects and groups in this year’s calendar. Something is bound to meld well with your interests, schedule and pocketbook.
This year, we challenge you to become a part of something bigger than yourself.
