It is the summer of sharks. And Martha’s Vineyard is celebrating with JawsFest, a three-day event designed to bring awareness to shark conservation and awareness. In conjunction with Universal Studio’s 100th Anniversary celebration and the release of the remastered blockbuster film “Jaws,” which was filmed on Martha’s Vineyard in 1974, the event features a number of activities for all the shark lovers in your family
Check out the Behind The Screams display, a private collections of photographs from memorabilia from the filming. “Jaws” fans of ages can take advantage of Shark In The Park event which includes a treasure hunt, an opportunity to meet with cast and crew members, recognized shark experts from Shark Savers and Discovery Channel staff. Around the island, look for a number of re-enactments from popular scenes of the movie and then take in a showing of “Jaws” on the big screen on beautiful Ocean Park.

Zip Line Eco Canopy Tour

Now this is a unique way to keep cool during the summer. This is a craft show like no other. The 79th Annual Craftsmen’s Fair at the Mount Sunapee Resort in Newbury, N.H., will showcase exquisite one-of-a-kind artwork and crafts of all types. During the event, you can chat with master craftsmen and learn about techniques passed on for generations. Browse at more than 200 craft booths or make your own handmade treasure by attending workshops in papermaking, beads and glassblowing. The Annual Craftsmen’s Fair has been held at the Mount Sunapee Resort since 1964 and offers a number of other recreational activities in addition to the fair such as cruises and boat tours, an adventure park, shopping and a historic tour of Fells Estate and Gardens. Admission is $10 per adult.
