It is a sign of the times that mixed-use developments are becoming a common sight all around the country these days. After all, with carbon footprints becoming smaller and to-do lists growing larger, what better way to merge the two than to move into a home that’s right in the middle of everything? We were curious about this type of development, and dropped by McBee Station to visit a few of the flats ourselves. Fortunately, three of the Upstate’s finest design firms — Bogari, The Feathered Nest and Postcard from Paris — have interpreted what three of the city homes might offer future owners lucky enough to live above the center’s retail spaces.

A contemporary downtown lifestyle with everything a city dweller could ask.
