Laura DuPont has three children, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, not to mention a brand-new home and a history of adventures to rival the biggest blockbuster movie. So we weren’t really surprised when she told us she has “too many blessings to count.”
DuPont recently allowed us to visit her in her spacious new home at The Cascades, where she and interior designer Gary Hester have arranged many of the treasures formerly located in her larger Crescent Avenue home.
“He has worked himself to death putting this thing together,” said DuPont. “I feel more at home here because it has all of my things.”
Hester was all too happy to be sure his longtime friend would be satisfied with the new space, spending lots of time prior to the move planning an end result that would be “as good or better than where she was leaving.”
“Everything here came from the old house,” said Hester. “We only recovered some things and purchased a few rugs to fit the new space. We have been working together for years, so I was familiar with what we had and how it would fit here.”
The end result is a warm, welcoming home perfect for a fun-loving lady with a twinkle in her eye.
